GLENN KOOYER MEMORIAL AWARD

Pat Furlong of Elk River, MN was awarded the Glenn Kooyer Memorial Award in Charleston, WV. Pat's 1963 Bonneville Safari Wagon also won a Gold Award in the points-judged competition. 2010 marked the fifth anniversary of the Glenn Kooyer Memorial Award. Glenn was a past president of the Minnesota Tomahawk Chapter and proud builder and owner of a custom 1957 Pontiac Safari wagon.

Glenn was taken from us unexpectedly in a tragic boating accident on Lake Superior on October 16, 2005. He is survived by his loving wife Linda, and two sons, Adam and Brian. The Tomahawk Chapter of POCI is pleased to have made a perpetual award in Glenn's honor to the outstanding Pontiac wagon or sedan delivery at each year's POCI convention.

Past winners include Bob Garacochea's 1958 "Bonnewood" wagon, Lou Callasibetta's 1957 Transcontinental Safari station wagon, known as "Surfari", Lloyd Hahn's custom 1955 Safari, and Larry Crider's 1948 Pontiac Woodie Wagon.
