January 2007
Dues are payable for 2007 by 12/31. To date, we have received 46 renewals from a total of 83 members. That number is one short of our record high of a few years ago. If you havent sent your dues in, please do so immediately. This year, the Board of Directors voted to forego our traditional Christmas Party and opted instead for a Celebration Party on January 27th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, the scene of our extremely successful Eastern Regional. Each member will be receiving an invitation. Other January events are the World of Wheels (weekend of the 5th), the Big E (the weekend of the 20th) and the Bling on Wheels (weekend of the 26th at the CT EXPO Center).
Twelve members headed north to New Hampshire the day after Thanksgiving for our annual Christmas Tree Run. There were a couple of parties, good food, some sightseeing and antiquing, and (best of all) Christmas trees and wreathes for the ride home. Also, eight members attended the 17th annual Norman Rockwell Celebration in Stockbridge, MA. This is the last formal car show of the year and this year the weather cooperated to the fullest extent. The past 3 years it was snowed out. There are no awards; just a good time. Even though Ray Hogan and Arleen attended, their recently purchased 67 Bonneville station wagon couldnt make it. Unfortunately, a mouse (mice) decided to make a nest in the blower and turning the heater and blower on wasnt a good idea (can you say fire!!). Fortunately, the car survived with a minimum of damage. This year, our Directors will be Dennis Ducharme, Steve Fretias, Bob Desrochers, Phil Page, and Paul Zito. Our thanks and appreciation go to outgoing directors Charlie Lefebvre and Paul Camara.
