May 2007
The car show season started for those of us in the St. Louis Area with the Annual Easter Show held in Forest Park sponsored by the Horseless Carriage Club. We had 9 members display their cars and one member, Alan Baumer, entered into the judged portion of the show bringing home a 3rd place award. We also provided 2 judging teams for the event. Four members displayed their cars at a fund raiser for the Make A Wish Foundation sponsored by the Student Council at a local high school. Despite a cool windy day, we enjoyed ourselves while we supported this worthy charity and showed our support for the students putting on the event.Dyno Day was once again a big hit. We had 8 members run their cars, some did some fine tuning and returned for a 2nd run.
May will be our Poker Run which is always a big success. We meet on the Illinois side of the Mississippi River and travel south taking in the sites and stopping at several locations including the home of one of our chapter members. Our final stop will be for dinner.
June promises to be a busy month. We start off with the weekend show held at Tan-Tar-A Resort at the Lake of the Ozarks hosted by the Archway Olds Club. We have 5 members signed up for this show. Once again we will be going to Vienna Missouri to the home of Don Bennett for his Annual Pontiac Cruiz In & Parts Swap. We have a cruise planned for later in the month.
