No. Coast Ohio Chapter 9-11

The featured car for the month of September was Tonia Hogans 1980 Bonneville. Tonia is the original owner of this 5th Generation Bonne. Growing up Tonia always had an interest in the Big Detroit Steel Cars, particularly the Pontiac. In July of 1980 she caught a glimpse of a beautiful Poncho on the Jackshaw Pontiac lot. Of course, Tonia stopped to take a better look. The interest was certainly there, but the cost held her back. After several attempts to entice her, finally Tonia and the sales manager agreed upon a price. She purchased the brand new Bonneville in August of 1980 using her 1973 Grand Prix as a trade-in. She also dipped into her savings, which even included her First Communion money. Coupled with the above, she financed the remaining amount for 4 years at a very high interest rate of 14%. Tonia really wanted the car and thought she could play a small part to boost the 80s economy, so& she sealed the deal. During the U.S. energy crisis era the Bonnevilles first fill up totaled $35.00. At that time the gasoline cost was a very expensive $1.25 per gallon. (Little did we know&) Tonia has always been delighted to have chosen her Bonneville. Features include a 265 cu in (4.3L) V8 motor and 2-barrel carburetor. The Ponchos exterior paint is called Starlight Black and she has a Landau Top. The impeccable interior boasts Patrician Gold Stripe Velour seats and door panels. Tonia has been a member of POCI for 25 years. She has recently rejoined NCPC. She has entered her car in three POCI National Convention shows and placed favorably at all three. The car has earned many trophies and plaques from 1986 to the present. Tonia is very proud to be the first and only owner of this long, lean, gleaming machine. Everything still works on this beautiful Poncho. With 21,500 original miles this Bonne has maintained a comfortable ride as it floats down the highway. Upcoming Events: Our club Fall Social will be on Saturday, October 8th.
