North American Solstice/Sky Meet

NASSM June 19-22, 2014

While many of our Pontiacs were gathered in Wichita, Kansas this June, there was another Pontiac event also happening.....the 2014 North American Solstice Sky Meet, or NASSM for short!! The 9th Annual NASSM was held in the Pocono Mountain region of Northeast Pennsylvania from June 19th-June 22nd. The Bushkill Inn & Conference Center located in Bushkill Falls, PA was the host hotel and home to 175 Kappas and 325 attendees who came from across the US and Canada.

The Mid-Atlantic Solstice Sky Club (MASSC) was the host this year and a great job was done planning and making this year’s event a memorable one. The local ALS chapter was also the charity recipient at this year’s NASSM. I also can’t forget to mention the sponsors and vendors who are always there for the Kappa community including DDM Works, Performance Autoworks, Solo Performance, Hahn Racecraft & Westers. The on-site vendors made it possible to have work done such as engine tuning, turbo & supercharger installation and upgrades, suspension upgrades, and exhaust and brake installations.

There were many things to do whether you wanted to explore one of the many area attractions, or go on one of the many car runs scheduled each day on the twisty back roads. There was even an opportunity to test your driving skills at the Pocono Racetrack! On Saturday, June 21st (the Summer SOLSTICE!) there was an afternoon car show and in the evening there was a banquet and awards presentation.

Whatever your interest was, the 2014 NASSM had something for everyone to enjoy and reinforced the fact that Pontiac really did “Build Excitement”. The 2015 NASSM is being held in Portland, Oregon from June 17th-June 22nd. This event is ALWAYS held over the Summer SOLSTICE!
