North Coast Ohio Chapter - July 2010 Update

NORTH COAST PONTIAC CHAPTER (OHIO) The featured car for the month of June was Kerry Klotzman's 1929 Standard Sedan. Three years ago, a phone call from fellow NCPC member Larry Crookshanks had Kerry scrambling to check out a new treasure in Madison, Ohio. When Kerry arrived at the barn where a '29 Standard Sedan was being stored, he was immediately impressed. The car had no rust and the upholstery was perfect. This Fisher 4-door survivor's history showed she never left Madison. The car was parked in a barn for 50 years, then sold after the owner's death. Years later the '29 was donated to Madison Museum and auctioned off. In the late 90's, heavy snow collapsed a barn where she was stored. Once again she was moved to another location, but never too far from her original home. The '29 is now fondly called "Barney Madison". The car needed new tires and Kerry added a new belt and hoses. He also added a new Optima 6-volt battery. The car has 19-inch wheels. The engine is a 6 cylinder. Everything in the car works and she runs great. The Klaxon horn adds a nice touch of class and nostalgia. In 1929, Pontiac built its 500,000th car. It was that particular year that exterior color became popular and Pontiac began offering an array of standard paint colors. The exterior on Kerry's '29 is called Gettysburg Blue and the pinstriping is Tacoma Cream. The interior is mohair. The '29 has been at the Flathead Reunion in Kalamazoo, Michigan and also to the Gilmour Museum. Kerry enjoys driving his '29 to cruises, shows and other North Coast Pontiac Chapter events. This all original, 29,000 mile, survivor is truly remarkable. The weekend of June 13th and 14th kept club members busy with a number of car activities around the area. Our club can boast about winners as well...
