North Coast Ohio Chapter News 5/11

The featured car for the month of April was Joe Rossmans 1939 2-door Sedan. While enjoying the classic cars at the Cleveland Autorama, Joe walked by a two toned blue 39 Pontiac. She immediately caught his eye. Being an auto expert and an ASE certified technician, Joe knew how costly it would be to restore a classic. This Poncho was from Akron and had all the paper work. Plus, being a street rod spiked his interest. Joe and the former owner agreed on a price and this timeless machine joined a 39 Plymouth and a 39 Caddy limousine. This Sedan has a small block Chevy 350 engine. It also has a Chevy front suspension. It is equipped with power brakes, power steering, cruise control, air-conditioning, power seat, tinted glass all around, and seat belts with shoulder harness for added safety. Joe knew that this street rod would pleasantly cruise around town. Joe has made some changes. The two toned blue is now a 1967 Pontiac blue with gray fenders. The car came with wooden running boards but now sports new steel running boards. Joe added insulation and duramat to help lessen the echo noise and vibration. Joe has enjoyed seeing the sights while driving his classic to Lincoln, Knoxville, and Kalamazoo. It has also traveled to the Woodward Cruise without any problems. He is happy he added the 39 to his collection of cars. This blue Street Rod Poncho has been a pleasure to cruise. Joe Rossman, the Auto Doctor, was our guest speaker. His topic was titled Cars That Were Built in Cleveland, Ohio. It was a very interesting lesson on Clevelands automobile success in the late 1800s and early 1900s. NCPC members are looking forward to the June 11th 2nd Annual Poker Run.
