Piedmont Chapter Update Feb. 2010
After a December break for the Piedmont Club to enjoy holiday activities with family and friends, the chapter held the January meeting at a favorite restaurant in L.A. (lower Archdale, NC). Members quickly caught up on any area happenings, which are rather limited at this time of year. Bill and Cathy Sykes had set up vending at the January Charlotte Metrolina Show and gave a report on spotting several in attendance including talking with old friend Dennis Kurban. A few other members braved the cold January weather and shopped, in search of those elusive Pontiac parts. President Bill Adams presented a number of events for the crew to mull over and make some decisions at the February meeting in order to set up the calendar for the year. Our February meeting is a highlight of the year, as we travel to the Outwest Steakhouse in Kernersville for a special meal. The club began this tradition many years ago after attempts to secure a restaurant for a Christmas party seemed to be very difficult to get. Our club's March meeting will consist of a trip to Mooresville to tour the North Carolina Racing Hall of Fame and the Memory Lane Motorsports and Historical Automotive Museum. After enjoying a meal at Village Pizza the members will check out the first of the year Mooresville Cruise-In downtown. Another area cruise-in that is starting back after a couple of years is the Kannapolis Cruise-In. This is one of the larger ones in the state and will occur each 2nd Saturday of the month from March thru November. The first quarter is off to a busy start for the club and cars are beginning to rumble in the Piedmont.See Your Local Chapter Events
