Silver State Pontiac Chapter News

Local News for the Silver State Pontiac POCI Chapter serving in Reno/Lake Tahoe, Nevada. The club meets on the third Thursday of each month at Dennys Restaurant, located at 205 Nugget Avenue in Sparks, NV, at 7:00 PM. It boasts over 100 active members and in the last year has added approximately 25 new members through active recruitment. Its just participated in the regions most popular and biggest car show, Hot August Nights. We started off the week with our own club Hot August Nights Kick-off party on August 4 and enjoyed a week of cruising daily show and shines, and other nostalgic pursuits. The Silver State Pontiacs will be hosting its own ALL MAKES AND MODELS car show on September 9, 07 at A&W on Kietzke Lane in Reno. During cruising season (nice weather permitting) we hold monthly car events including cruises, auto destinations, etc. We hold a spring and fall cruises for members during the respective seasons. Our fall cruise will be taking place this October. Our destination is Placerville, CA for some wine tasting, golf, and visiting beautiful Apple Hill. A date is yet to be determined. Look for field race course events in the future. Our annual Christmas party will be held at the Reno Elks Lodge on December 15, 2007. Our next election for chapter officers will be taking place in November.
